Que: I want to get a transplant, but I am hearing two conflicting opinions - some say that you should get an FUT before an FUE and there are those who say the opposite. Which procedure will give me better results and more grafts?
Ans: Each doctor has his or her method and reasoning, however, in my several years of practice, I have noticed that I am able to get more grafts, when I do an FUT, before the FUE, especially in the advanced stages of hair loss. If there is a need, we can suggest an FUE after the second or third sitting. This would be solely for an increased number of grafts.
