'John Wick' Film Franchise Crosses $1 Billion Mark at Box Office

The John Wick movie franchise has officially reached the billion mark!

Lionsgate made the big announcement ahead of the weekend that with the latest numbers, the entire franchise has surpassed that mark, putting it in the ranks of Avatar, Marvel, and even Despicable Me.

The John Wick franchise has four movies in total with the latest, Chapter 4 has the highest grossing one at $425.3M and counting. It still has a release in Japan coming up.

John Wick Chapter 3 - Parabellum earned $326.7M, Chapter 2 is at $171.54M and the original flick, which came out in 2014, picked up $87.8M worldwide.

"This milestone is a testament to the incredible work of Chad Stahelski and Keanu Reeves, alongside Basil Iwanyk and Erica Lee, who have made it their mission to outdo themselves with each successive film in this franchise. We could not be more grateful to global moviegoers for bringing us to this incredible achievement," Lionsgate Motion Picture Group Chair Joe Drake said in a statement.

Keanu Reeves, Donnie Yen, Bill Skarsgard, Laurence Fishburne, Ian McShane, and the late Lance Reddick all star in the franchise.
